Korea, home of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympic & Paralympic Games
With its rich blend of modern and traditional cultures, dynamic cities, electric nightlife, vibrant festivals, mouth-watering cuisine and world-class shopping at any time of the day or night, even an ordinary day in Korea is breathtaking. Now, as excitement builds ahead of the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, there has never been a more exciting time to visit.
From 9-25 February 2018, Pyeongchang, located in
South Korea’s mountainous Gangwon province, will
host the 23rd Winter Olympics. It’s only the second
time any Olympic Games has been held in Korea.
Most of the events, including ski jumping, luge,
bobsleigh, cross-country skiing and downhill slalom
will be held at Pyeongchang’s two major ski resorts,
Alpensia and Yongpyong. The resorts are also home
to a wide range of fun things to do such as karaoke,
bowling, Korean BBQs, hot springs, night skiing and
an indoor water park. There truly is something for
everyone in Pyeongchang.

Discover Korea’s unique past
Immerse yourself in relics of Korea’s long history, whose stories will inspire your imagination and allow you to travel back in time through ancient cities, spiritual grounds and royal palaces. Across the country, there are twelve UNESCO World Heritage sites, each of them profoundly beautiful as symbols of Korea’s rich natural, cultural and spiritual histories.
Explore Korean cuisine
Korea is world-renowned for its delicious cuisine. Visitors are spoiled for choice, with a
selection of street food, cook-it-yourself Korean BBQ, and multi-course Royal banquets on
offer. Whether you’re up for an exciting evening on a street food dining tour alongside locals (and with a glass of unique Korean liquor in your hand) or you’d rather have dinner delivered to your doorstep, there’s something here for every taste.
Be inspired by Korea’s vibrant culture
Art, spirituality, design, food, music and – of course – shopping are at the heart of Korea’s unique cultural blend of modern and traditional influences. Learn to meditate as you live like a Buddhist monk for a day at a Templestay program. Tour Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul and spend quality time at the many art galleries, modern cafes and traditional teahouses. At night, see Korea truly come alive in the street food markets, nightclubs and bars. Marvel at the spectacular view from N-Seoul Tower over dinner, or take a tour of the beautiful city lights.
